Mudbug Mayhem

Before I moved to Texas I might have heard of a crawfish...or a crawdad but never did I imagine that there's a whole season where people gather and have parties and festivals centered around eating them. Yesterday we went to the McGee's annual Crawfish Blowout for fun, friends, and well....Crawfish. I don't really partake in the crawfish portion but the rest of it was fun!

Ryan took awhile to warm up to all the people

Here's Kevin pouring them out and seasoning them with the so affectionately named "Slap Your Mama" spices

Keith's a fan...

All the kiddos checking out the live crawfish...Andon and Katie finally touched one!

Katie was Kevin's big helper for the rest of the evening!

Something to cherish...

I take a bajillion pictures of my kids...I think deep down I think that if I have all these pictures, no matter how much time passes and how old they get I can hold onto the memory....to that moment in time. But something that breaks my heart is that I don't have many pictures of myself with my kids...and sometimes I think down the road maybe they would wish they had more. I'm really making an effort to make that happen. Anyway...mushiness aside...my friend Summer was so sweet to take some time away from her precious 2 month old and 2 year old to take some pictures of our little family. In particular I am SOOOOO grateful for the ones of me with my babies...

Thanks from the bottom of my heart Summer!

Ready or Not....

Crawling is in our near future! Eek! This is about a month and a half earlier than Katie!

Rainy Day Friends and Fun

It was one of those days when it was just a matter of time before the rain, thunder and lightening arrived but we made sure to get some playtime in with Jackson and Kendall before it did!

Snacktime...a favorite activity!

Kendall playing with the big kids...I swear she see seems like she's turned into such a big girl in the last couple months!

Chalk Katies and Jacksons were a hit...

Kendall is an advanced artist :P

A lovely mirror pic while Katie was napping...excuse my psycho face!

The storm was really roaring when Katie got up from nap so we popped in a movie...

While Ryan was sleeping Katie and I played

Beautiful girl...

For some reason when I look at this picture I can still see the chubby little baby I once knew...

For you eagle eye photogs...forgive the horrible clone jobs on the last two...I ran out of time :P

Easter Day

Picture overload time!

The night before Easter Katie and Daddy didn't get home until super late but we still needed to put the carrots out for the Easter Bunny and put the eggs in our basket for him to hide. Katie thought he might be really hungry...

The Bunny has left the building!

"The Bunny didn't eat all my carrots!"

So excited about her "water skates"...

Katie and Ryan got matching knit bunnies too. Who knew the Easter Bunny shopped at Love Bug Knits!

What?

Oooooh!

The wild red-haired egg hunter :)

Daddy even got out of bed to join the fun... :P

Then it was up to Lake Conroe for church with Grandma and Grandpa...we barely made it on time and when we did get there, it decided to pour down rain. Uggh! The important thing is that we DID make it and we weren't late!

Our little family...

Aunt Stacy, Uncle Mike and Grandma and Grandpa had some Easter gifts for the kiddos...thank you!

Those of you who know me well, know that this could possibly be my worst nightmare! :P

Ryan playing with Uncle Mike...

I'm almost 7 months old!

Lovin' from Aunt Stacy and the puppies!

This is the face I make when the doggies bark!

These two are up to no good..

But it's fun to watch :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
