What I did while I should have been sleeping :P

Instead of posting individual pics I put together this montage of Ryan's first days at the hospital. Not a masterpeice by any means but captured such a special time. Mommy didn't get to take many pictures herself because of her spinal headache, but she is VERY grateful to all of those who took pictures for her!!! Enjoy :)

Oh and turn up the volume!

***** Edited to add that the song is "Today" by Joshua Radin. I actually heard it on the Ellen/Portia Wedding video...haha! I just loved it. :)

Introducing Ryan Todd

I was able to get some pictures to Keith's laptop although I just realized I didn't watermark them....oops! I just wanted to share some pictures of my little man! These were from the hospital. :)

Such a proud big sister :)

Ryan is here!

Sorry no pictures for the blog at the moment, but I wanted to let everyone who may not already know that our little boy, Ryan Todd, has arrived! He was born September 16 at 8:05am and weighed 8lbs 14ozs and 20 inches.

Unfortunately we are the last group of homes in our area to receive power. They are telling us we won't have it until next Thursday. :( This makes it a bit difficult to update the blog and post pictures.

I have lots to update for sure....pictures from before the hurricane, after the hurricane and Baby Ryan's arrival.

Take care!

IKE.....TAKE A HIKE :P

Most know we are getting ready hunker down and ride out hurricane Ike. Let's just pray it's quick and without major drama. We are expecting power outages and are prepared. Let's also hope I don't go into labor!!! Aye yi yi! Grandma and Grandpa T. are on their way early to beat the storm here so there would be no risk in missing Ryan's arrival on Tuesday!

I just wanted to share a couple snaps from tonight. Katie has the privelige of being the first kid in her class to take home their mascot Tommy the Turtle!!!!! Don't worry...he's not real. :P You would not believe how excited she was about this! We are supposed to journal each day about what Tommy the Turtle did with our family. He's going to have quite an interesting weekend! :P

Oh no....

Well, I never wanted to take this blog private, but I may soon. I'm having some hits from Brazil and if you are a child photographer you may know about the Orkut photo stealing circle from Brazil. They steal pictures and make up fake families and post pictures as their own. It's really disturbing to me and to think someone is doing that freaks me out. This is why I watermark even the snapshotty-est of photos, but they don't care about that anyway.

So, if you are the person from Brazil looking at my site and you are legit please contact me. But considering I don't know anyone from Brazil I'm worried and may take this blog private soon.

In the meantime if you'd like to stay caught up with our little family please email me and I'll make sure you have access.

Thanks!

Around Our House

Just some snaps from around the house :)

Katie's class is going to do a collage of yellow things at the end of the month and asked that the kids cut out pictures and bring them in to share. Katie has never used scissors other than playdough scissors so this was quite a challenge. She was very serious about it...

Hmmm...

Like this?

How do these things work?

Ah ha!

Some of you may remember the 1 year video I made for Katie of her first year. Yeah it was 45 minutes long and quite the undertaking. I love it though and apparently so does Katie. I think with all the talk of baby Ryan she is really enjoying seeing herself as a baby. At first I was like "awww"...and got the tears when we watched it together. But, 259 times later....uggh!!!! We watch at least once a day...more like twice. She never gets tired of it!

Katie is really into Dinosaurs right now. I'm a sucker for buying things for her when she shows a real interest. Especially something with some sort of educational value. So of course cruising Walmart yesterday we stopped to see what kind of Dinosaur things they had. Katie brought home these two friends and loves them! Also while we were walking around all of a sudden I hear her say "Maiasaura!!!" Low and behold on a rack was a book about baby Dinosaurs and a Mommy Maiasaura was on the front with her babies. Smart girl. :P So, we also got 4 books on sale about Dinosaurs. :)

More Vids

Since I'm playing with videos anyway here are a few more! Katie LOVES to sing. I've been singing to her since the day she was born. We still sing every night. And I don't sing your every day lullabies. :) These are the only 2 songs I've caught so far but she has quite a repertoire that I need to still get.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (with the dramatic ending :P)

Do - A Deer

Of course once the video camera comes out she forgets parts!

Other songs soon to come...

Country Roads (The Katie/Mama Version) - By John Denver
The Dance - By Garth Brooks
The River - By Garth Brooks (I must like Garth :P)

Katie Pledges Allegiance :P

I thought this video was fitting for this time of year. I think she's just the cutest! Despite the fact that 5 minutes before this she did it perfectly while we were singing songs for bedtime. Then of course I get the camera out and she needs a little help. :P

And a couple of notes:

1. She's watching herself in the mirror...she loves singing into the mirror!
2. We are in a phase of picking out our own pajamas...aye yi yi!

Preschool!

The long awaited day has finally come. Katie started preschool! She has been very excited about it and couldn't wait to wear her very special backpack today. It took a little bit of coersion to get her out of bed though....she's not used to waking up so early! She takes after Daddy and loves to sleep in. :) (sorry..no flash...lots of grain)

In the terrible morning light on my front porch :P She was so proud! Mommy and Daddy are too!

Her backpack spot...I've told them she goes by Katie but for some reason it continues to be Katelyn. I foresee many school years of this. :)

Ready to play...she loves the kitchen area.

Labor Day fun!

This afternoon we went over to our best bud Andon's house for a Labor Day BBQ. It was quite a treat because even though we see each other all the time, the Daddy's were able to get in on the fun!

The 3 amigos...

Just for fun...the 3 of them a little over a year ago!

Jackson pulling Katie on the way home. Get used to it bud...girls are demanding like that! :P

Riding off into the sunset...

All these kiddos head to preschool tomorrow! Their mommies are SOOOO excited! :P

Ready for Ryan

Well, the room is done! Well let's just say it's in a somewhat organized state. :P There is furniture and all of the baby things are out of storage. Katie has been having fun helping me get everything in the right place. She helped me go through all her books and picked out the "baby books" that would stay in Ryan's room She's also been test driving the swing with babies and all of her stuffed animals. :) Here's the room somewhat put together....

I have a new comfy glider ordered, but it probably won't get here before he's born.

Katie wanted to test out the crib...

That was her mobile...it doesn't exactly match but oh well. :)

All the stuff is washed and waiting for a baby boy!
