Ryan's Stats

We finally had Ryan's 4 month appointment and the poor kid is wasting away to nothing! He was only in the 75th-90th percentile in weight. I guess I should feed him every now and then :P

Here are the stats...
Weight - 16lbs 14ozs 75-90%
Height - 26.5 in 95%+
Head Circ - 16 3/4 75-90%

We got the go ahead to start cereal...we dusted off the ole highchair last week!

Overexposed and out of focus...but such a cute shot

The doctor says she has no clue why he is having his issues staying asleep. Gee thanks! She did suggest that we start letting him go to sleep on his own (cry it out) and have Keith go in when he wakes up and gets upset (haha!). Doctor's orders hun! :) We'll see...today he fought his nap for two hours and I finally gave up and just let him cry. He rolled himself over and fell asleep on his own and has been sleeping for 2 hours. And yes, I'm checking the monitor constantly and he's still breathing! :P

Moving on..

This might be a glimpse into my future...many years of messy rooms (i clean it constantly) and questionable fashion sense...

Ryan's on Kayleigh's Blog!

A couple of months ago I bought a pink bracelet from Kayleigh's blog to show support for such a special little baby and finally got around to taking a picture of Ryan wearing the bracelet to send in. They save all the pictures in a scrapbook. Check him out!

This post's for you Old Aunt Judy!

Today Katie was invited to a birthday party at an equestrian center. How cool is that?? It was rather fun although maybe geared more towards older kids. Katie and her friends still had fun, but the rules were "no yelling" and "no running", which is a bit tough for 3 year olds to remember. The first time the horse snorted a chorus of squeals and laughter errupted. :)

Anyway, here's Katie with "Stormy," the princess horse according to her.

Walking with one of her preschool classmates to ride the horses!

Katie was SOOOOO excited to ride a horse and wasn't scared a bit. When the girl asked who wanted to ride she yelled "I do!!" and was the first one up there. The rest of the kids weren't so sure but she wasn't a bit scared! Here's Katie and another classmate waiting to get on the horses. Apparently these bike helmets were very popular!

Once up there she looked a bit worried...

Being a good listener...

Now she's into it!

And they're off!

So much fun!

Let me introduce you to "Tank." Tank got a bit of dirt on his nose...

It started to get a bit itchy...

REALLY itchy! Oh Tank, you really need to floss!

This is what Tank had to say to me for laughing at his expense...

Waiting for cupcakes!

Oh and as a side note...just to show you how crazy Texas weather is. Yesterday it was 78 and we were in tshirts...today it was 50 and FREEZING.

Neener Neener

Today our temperture was...

So we...

Sorry, had to rub it in for all you out there freezing. :) And yes, that's my baby in a swing. Time is a flyin'!

Oh and look what I noticed...

His hair looked SUPER blond today at the park. Anybody else see it? Could we have a blondie on our hands?

Here, there, and everywhere!

Kind of a random posts of pictures...

Katie got to bring her class mascot, Tommy the Turtle, home again! The last time he was here he had a rip roaring time with a hurricane and the birth of Ryan. This time was a bit more relaxed...

We ran into "Big Ryan" at the mall!

We painted the "Chirpy House" that Uncle Brandon and Becca got for Katie for Christmas! It turned out cute didn't it? We put extra places for all the chirpies to stand. :)

Mama took pictures for her friend Dallas of Miss Priss Tutus. She's going to be carrying a new line of tutu dresses. Keep your eye out for my photos on her website soon! Here's one to share...aren't they gorgeous? A BIG thanks to Miss Ella for being such a great model. Isn't she the prettiest thing???

Katie LOVES to make fruit salad. I cut up the fruit and she would add it to the bowl. Eventually I realized that nothing was making it into the bowl. She was stuffing the piles into her face!

A beautiful day in the neighborhood...

All smiles...

You could try to resist his cuteness...

But you'd fail...miserably :)

His big sister's pretty cute too...

Roll Baby Roll!

Just the other day Ryan rolled from back to front for the first time and I was wondering if it was a fluke or if we've really hit that milestone! Katie didn't roll until much later...like 6 months. Yeah she was a bit chunky. :P He had been kinda rolling to his side with his leg hanging over for a while so I knew it was coming. But this morning I looked over at him playing on his playmat and this is what I saw!

I think we have a roller on our hands. :)

"Whoa...how'd I get here?"

"This is kinda fun Mom!"

I even had the video camera handy so I'll try to get back on and add that as well but someone is getting fussy at the moment. :)

4 months!

Tomorrow Ryan is 4 months...wow! He is growing up so fast it's amazing! Here are some things he's up to:

1. Loves to sit up and "stand." He's very into what's going on around him.
2. Still a cranky pants the majority of the time
3. Got sick for the first time and it was a doozy. He made his first trip to the Emergency Room although not really for an emergency. We couldn't find a pediatrician in my parents area that had time to fit him in. He also ended up with his first ear infection.
4. Slept through the night (8 hours) for the first time! He's still very inconsistent sleepwise though. Most nights he's down at 10:00 (after being put down at 8:30), up at 3:00ish and back down until 8:00. Naps are still a crap shoot.
5. Loves his exersaucer!
6. Loves to chew on anything...mostly his hands and my hands.
7. Filling out 3-6 month clothes pretty well.
8. Talks like crazy. He has fun making all sorts of sounds.
9 Made his first plane trip and did really well!
10. Starting to like reading with big sis at night. He thinks it's funny when I read. :)
11. Laughed for the first time this month!
12. Sometimes rolls to his side from his back but not interested in rolling much yet. Hates his tummy.

We are starting to leave that "newborn" phase. Honestly Good riddance! Ryan has his 4 month apppointment on 1/29 (he'll really be 4 1/2 months but I guess our ped is popular) so I'll update on his stats. I know you guys will be hanging on the edge of your seats!

Edited to add: This is a milestone post! This is my 400th post! Wow!

Back to it

We are slowly getting back into our routine of preschool, playdates and life at home. We had one last Christmas celebration with our TX fam on Saturday. It was great to see everyone and I totally hate Aunt Julie because she's in Disneyworld as we speak! :P Here are some snaps from the evening...excuse the wonky color...

I wish I would have taken more but I was busy making dinner and such...my trusty assistant Katie was put on the job with her new camera...I think she has some talent!!!

We got together with our bestest buds Andon and Jackson too.

Love these girls...

Now for some randomness...

Did you know beads + string = an HOUR of independent playtime? Anyone that knows Katie, knows that she doesn't play well on her own much.

Ryan got his first ear infection...boo. But look at him sitting in the stroller like a big boy!
