4.5

I honestly can't think about her next birthday. I don't even want to say the number. So for now I am cherishing her while she's still in the 4's but I will admit that you can see in her face that the baby and toddler is definitely gone and the little girl is present. The cheesy grins of last year are replaced with sweet smirks and tilted heads. My once stubborn child who wanted nothing to do with having her picture taken...is posing. Happy Half Birthday smoosh :)

Another Year In The Books

Katie's last day of school was today. Here's a little comparison between the beginning of the year and this morning. Her hair is crazy long! We are holding out until after ballet to cut it. It's very pretty but such a pain!

They had a luau party and had lots of fun :) She of course had to dress accordingly :P Her brother was supposed to wear his Hawaiian shirt too, but he had other opinions. We loved having Andon in our class this year!

Andon and Katie doing their song for the parents...

Katie with her teachers (mommy messed up this shot)...

We are looking forward to a relaxing summer! Aloha!

Just Zoo It!

We LOVE the zoo and had fun spending a hot humid Friday with our friends and a few animals :) Ryan's favorites were the monkeys and the giraffes. Katie got up close and personal with a baby alligator! We ended the day playing in the water and a train ride. Needless to say both kids passed out for the trip home.

What a Girl Wants

Can I just say that I think commercials should be banned from children's television!! Katie's recent obsession is Sprout and they have lovely infomercials for "Pillow Pets" and "Live Butterfly Gardens" both of which Katie wants more than anything in the world. Well, I caved on the Butterfly Garden a)because she was so excited about doing one at school and b) it's educational and c) they had it at Target. So you purchase the box that contains the cylindrical net container and have to send away for the actual caterpillars. We had to check the mail at least twice a day until those darned things showed up! Katie was very worried her caterpillars would be scared in the mail box. But alas...they arrived and they sleep in Katie's bedroom. Every morning we bring them downstairs and draw a picture and she dictates to me the changes she sees. Pretty cool!

Day 1

Day 2

I'll keep you updated on the process and progress! I'm sure you will be glued to your seats :P

Freckleface Strawberry

A favorite book around here...Katie has always identified with the "Strawberry" part...but now we are really developing the "Freckleface" part. :)

This, That and The Other

I've been super busy lately with work so I haven't had a chance to blog much and the pictures I've taken are very random but definitely worth sharing :)

The only picture I took on Mother's Day...Katie in her apron. She was quite adamant on making me breakfast in bed...which would have been wonderful but not practical, so she settled for helping mommy make pancakes :D

Ryan looking cute drinking a smoothie...this kid could look cute wearing paper bag :P

It's that time of year...kiddie pool time!

Buds...I love this picture :)

No words...

iPhone Friday...It's been awhile!

If you happen to be a friend of mine on Facebook you have already seen most of these since I annoy people daily with iphone pictures of my kids on there. :P Some of these are from awhile ago!

Make a Wish

My wish would be that she'd STOP GROWING UP! Love this shot from her 4 1/2 year session which I'll post on the 30th. I think it's funny that the dandelion is practically in her mouth...lol!

Katie Day

Not long ago...like 1 year 7 months 2 weeks and 6 days ago...it was just me and her. We don't get much me and her time anymore and it makes me so very sad sometimes. Well, my schedule happened to clear today so instead of spending the day with her Grandma and Grandpa on the Lake like normal, she stayed with me and we came up with a day just for her.

Ready for our adventure...one of her requests? To play on my iphone in the car which never happens because her brother will throw a fit and they will fight over it.

We started at the nail salon...I must admit, I might have nudged this one a bit :P She chose purple of course :)

After that we went to the movies. I played the trailers of Oceans and Furry Vengeance and she got to choose between those and seeing How to Train Your Dragon again. She chose Furry Vengeance. Uggh...I guess I did laugh at some parts but it was awful. She says she liked it though and laughed and laughed so I guess it was a hit.

We also hit up Barnes and Noble where she picked out a book for her and Ryan. She chose Marley and the Kittens...we love the Marley Series and then she chose a Thomas book for Ryan.

Next up Chick-Fil-A! YUM!

Soon after, I lost my mind and took her to ToysRUs to pick out some backyard water toys...yeah, taking a 4 year old to ToysRus is bad news. :S

Then it was time to head home...I hope this is a sign of a great day :)

It WAS a great day and I loved spending time with my girl. She's becoming such a fun little person.

Katie and the Aunts

Somebody's a fan of her Aunties

And she's also very excited about her baby cousin coming in a couple months!! I'm pretty excited too :D

Oh and no I don't highlight Katie's hair...she has freaky natural highlights :P
