Kindergarten Field Trip - The Oil Ranch!

Last week the entire Kindergarten went on a field trip to the Oil Ranch. The Oil Ranch is a big farm type place all decked out in fun things for kids to do. They milked and fed a cow, rode a train, did a hayride, pet some goats, ate snowcones, rode a pony and surprisingly their favorite thing? Playing on the playground. Huh????? Oh well..it was great weather and a fun time! Since I was a chaperone Katie got to choose her "group" and she chose Jack and Christopher our old neighbors. This is why many of the pictures of a bunch of boys and then Katie...haha! She didn't seem to care too much.

Night at the Rockets Game

Every year, Katie's school has a night at the Houston Rockets where you have a chance to purchase discounted tickets with some really good perks! We got to go down on the court and watch the players warm up and we WOULD HAVE been able to meet some players after the game but a certain little brother wasn't very cooperative and we had to go home at half time. Katie had a good time though and we were super surprised that Aunt Julie happened to be there too!

Night at the Museum!

Last weekend Katie and I got to spend the night at the Houston Museum of Natural Science with Girl Scouts. Quite a few girls from our troop participated and they had a blast together. They ate pizza, did crafts, watched a movie in the planetarium and slept in the Hall of the America's which is a huge exhibit. The next day we had free entrance in to the museum and had fun looking around.

Easter 2012

We had a wonderful Easter this year! We started the weekend with the big egg hunt at the church which doesn't include much hunting but there are lots of eggs! Katie and Ryan were in two separate "corrals" this year so Ryan went with Daddy and Katie stayed with me, hence the lack of pictures of poor Ryan :)

Then it was home to dye eggs...all 16 made it through the process!

The kids were excited to get their Easter baskets all ready and left a treat of carrots, water and a tootsie roll for the Easter Bunny. And they couldn't be just any old carrots...Organic carrots with the green leaves on the top. Only the best for Mr. E. Bunny round here! The kids were very excited to see what was left for them and lots of fun hunting for the eggs. Mommy got a little worried when we were missing one egg but found it in the bottom of Ryan's basket. Phew!

The kids and I went to church (Keith wasn't feeling well)...don't they look cute? They were NOT in the picture taking mood. When will the awkward smile phase end Ryan??? Not a good look! :) Then off to spend a wonderful day with our favorite sweet cousin and the rest of the K family. It was a great day!

We hope you all had a blessed Easter!

Joy

Pure Joy :)

Strawberry Pickin'

What a beautiful day it was! Our normal strawberry fields closed down last year so I was happy when a friend of mine set it up to visit another. Always a hit with the kids....well, most kids. Ryan decided it was a great time to throw a fit and cry most of the time. But that's Ryan! Oh well...we got lots of yummy strawberries for our Easter dessert this weekend. If you are interested it's called Atkinson Farm and it's near Kuykendahl and Spring Cypress. lots of other yummy fresh veggies in their store too!
