My Tiny Titan!

Well I did it...I registered my baby for Kindergarten. And not just any Kindergarten...the Kindergarten at the school I taught at when I first moved to Texas!!! It was so strange to walk through those doors as a parent to a student! Although I'm a bit sad about that this big new stage is already here, I'm SOOOOO grateful to walk through those doors and see familiar smiling faces and to feel so at home there. She's going to have a BLAST there and I can't wait to be a part of it.

I didn't take Katie with me to register because she was still getting over the flu but they gave the kids a yellow ticket to turn in at the front office for a welcome gift. So, I took Katie back the next day to turn it in. It was a cute hat that says "I'm a Titan!" on it. She of course chose purple. I also took Katie back to meet my friend/past co-worker/current Assistant Principal Sunnye. She's the best and even had hamsters in her office. :)

Crawfish Initiation

I attended my first crawfish boil not long after I moved to Texas. I thought...is this for real???? People eat these nasty, dirty buggers??? Now I look forward to the Spring and the crawfish boil invitations. They are so much fun and it's great to relax and hang out with friends.

My parents happened to come to town this weekend and we had plans to go to a crawfish boil. I thought this might be right up my dad's alley and I was right! He loved it! My mom was just fine staying home with her grandbabies and I know that's right where they wanted to be as well. So Keith, my dad and I had a great night!


Unfortunately Katie had the flu during the weekend :( Our first run in with it and she had the flu shot :( Luckily, because of the shot she didn't have symptoms that were awful. But I think we still managed to have a good weekend!

Mommy and Me

Katie had her Mommy and Me Tea at school today. She was so stinkin' cute showing me everything (like I hadn't been there before :P). We even got to plant a flower and decorate cute sticks to put in the pots. She was so proud! Then we made a stop by the book fair and if you know me, I'm a sucker for children's books. It's the teacher in me!

Girl Power!

So almost every other day Katie asks when she can have a sleepover. I kept quickly changing the subject because I think she's a bit too young and honestly the whole thing sounds exhausting! She kept asking though so finally I came up with an idea which I hoped would be the next best thing. A Pajama Movie Party where it was all girls and they watched the movie Tangled! She about passed out from excitement...marking each day on the calendar until today...THE DAY! They all had a blast...and I think if there was a giggle scale it would be off the charts!

The girls played outside while they waited for everyone to show up and then enjoyed their pizza and fruit!


Movie time! After it was over it turned into an impromptu dance party. And a big dog pile! I think the smiles on their faces say it all!


Ryan was there too and some beautiful girl mommies (in our jammies too of course!)!

Bluebonnets 2011 Take 1

We had the family together on Sunday and I really wanted to take Brooke for her first Bluebonnet pictures!!! Luckily her Mommy and Daddy let me. :D My kids are way less fun in the bluebonnets these days...one word TURDS!!! Uggh! I'll probably try again with them later. :S Also Rob Fleming park's bluebonnet hill has become quite a bit more popular than the first year I went many years ago and it's hard to take a decent picture with 4 million people in the background. But I think I managed!

Ryan at 2 1/2 Years Old!

Last week Ryan turned 2 1/2!!! My camera was in the shop so offical pictures were delayed. Also...Ryan wants nothing to do with having his picture taken so I was kind of dreading it. So this morning I went out with the idea that we were just going to walk around and if I got a picture great! Well he did a bit better than expected but the kid will not look at me! Uggh! Oh well :)


And as if the not looking at the camera isn't bad enough...let the forced, cheesy 2 year old picture smile start!

He Sleeps? He Sleeps Not.

Katie took naps until she was 4. I do remember spurts of times when she had problems settling down for naps and would just play in her room. I'm praying that's what Ryan is going through! This past week he's only taken two naps. Today he fell asleep at 3:45...and when I went in around 4 he was out. As in...the dog and I went barrelling in and he didn't move. Cali kissed his face and he squirmed and went back to sleep. I lay in the bed with him talking to him and nothing. He was zonked! So...well...of course I went and got my camera! lol...it's not very often you get sleeping pics of bigger babies.
