Brother and Sister

Could an almost 3 year old be any more frustrating???? She was so excited to take pictures with her brother and then turned into a turd when I got the camera out. Oh well...caught a couple sweet ones. I couldn't decide if I liked the color or the conversion better...

Ryan's First Playdate :)

Today we got together with Ryan's birthday buddy, which happens to be Jackson's baby cousin Paige! They were born on the same day although their Mommy's due dates were a couple weeks apart. They were too cute!

Miss Paige...

Kendall...the big girl of the group!! Oh how the tables have turned!

Mr. Ryan and his bug eyes....I wonder if they will stay blue? Also...any resemblance to someone else we know? Whatcha think?

BTW Katie was about a week younger in this picture...and probably almost a pound heavier than Ryan in the cheeks already! :P

Doing what I love to do...

It's been 2 weeks since Ryan's arrival and my life has consisted of not sleeping, nursing and trying to maintain my sanity. Well, today my mother-in-law took Katie to her house and "Little Man" (which is Katie's favorite thing to call him) and Mommy had a day on our own. And what does a photographer mommy do when she has a spare second? Take pics of course. I didn't get a ton and may try again this afternoon but here are a few I did snap. It's way harder when these newborns are your own and newborns are hard in general anyway.

Some updates on Ryan for those who may be interested. He is having a bit of trouble getting started on gaining weight. He was 8lbs 14oz at birth and 8lbs 4oz at one week. Yesterday at 2 weeks old he was only 8lbs 5oz. A gain, but not enough since he was supposed to be at least to his birth weight by 2 weeks. Mommy's a bit worried and frustrated (she's been nursing almost every hour for the last week!!!!), but I know he'll be fine. He's just being lazy when he nurses and falls asleep too quickly so we are trying to jumpstart him a bit with formula as well. He's strong and feisty and his jaundice is pretty much gone. He's having more happy alert times during the day since we started the formula so that's a positive. I'm hoping once he gets going we can go back to breastfeeding exclusively.

Thank for everyone's blog comments on his arrival! Usually I get an email notification when someone comments, but for some reason I never got any. I was beginning to wonder if my blog friends had forgotten me! :) But alas when I logged in to Blogger there were tons of well wishes. Definitely appreciated!

Off to take a short lived nap as "Little Man" is starting to stir...

What I did while I should have been sleeping :P

Instead of posting individual pics I put together this montage of Ryan's first days at the hospital. Not a masterpeice by any means but captured such a special time. Mommy didn't get to take many pictures herself because of her spinal headache, but she is VERY grateful to all of those who took pictures for her!!! Enjoy :)

Oh and turn up the volume!

***** Edited to add that the song is "Today" by Joshua Radin. I actually heard it on the Ellen/Portia Wedding video...haha! I just loved it. :)

Introducing Ryan Todd

I was able to get some pictures to Keith's laptop although I just realized I didn't watermark them....oops! I just wanted to share some pictures of my little man! These were from the hospital. :)

Such a proud big sister :)
