Big Weekend!
I am so behind on blogging...I think I actually have picture from Christmas yet to make it. But the little girl had a big weekend and I just had to share. She lost her first tooth AND got her ears pierced! Can't believe how fast she's growing up! I never thought she'd lose a tooth. Many of her friends have lost multiple by now. I went back to see if it happened to be the first tooth she got as a baby and it was! Waaaah! Mommy's having a hard time with all this growing up stuff :( She was so proud and happy about her new smile and her new ears!

Tis the Season to be BUSY!
I can't believe I haven't posted in almost a month! December is slightly crazy I guess. I'm going to do my best to catch up!
First up the kids (mostly Katie) had a great time hanging ornaments and putting up decorations around the house.
Ryan takes a music class after school with Ms. Mary. I think he likes the class although not quite as much as his sister did. He sure was cute up there though!

Katie also had her Holiday Show for dance! She always makes us so proud! She did great and looked so cute. Hard to believe we've been at this for 4 years now! This year I ended up as backstage mom...not my favorite thing as I miss seeing the show. Katie's fan club was in full force though including her BFF Sophia.
Ryan finished school a week before Katie and had a cute little party. They made a pine cone Christmas Tree, had a fun snack and got two presents from their teachers. I forgot my camera so iphone pictures are the best I could do :) The poor teacher could not get those kids to sing. She swore they were just belting it out during practice before all the parents showed up! Ha!
Next up on the calendar of fun was The Nutcracker! It's been fun to make this an annual tradition with Katie. We went again this year with a group of friends and had such a great time. The girls were super cute all dressed up and each year they seem to love the show even more.
While Mommy and Katie went to the Nutcracker, Ryan and Daddy got dressed (like twins!) and went to see Grandma sing in her Cantata at church!

Finally...Katie's holiday party. They made cute frosted ice cream cone Christmas trees. They also had a book exchange!

She's 7 Years Old!
Happy Birthday to my sweet Katie! Every year I say I can't believe it and it's true again! Here are some things about Katie at 7 years old...
- Loves dance! She takes tap, ballet and jazz. In addition she was asked to take part in her studio's competition dance company so she has an additional 1.5 hour class on top of her other classes. She seems to enjoy it as well as have a talent for it. I'm so proud of her.
- She can't get enough of Art! A lady in our neighborhood was an Architect in Mexico and is also a very talented artist. She holds a class once a week at her home for a few kids. Katie LOVES it. Outside of class "crafts" are always on her agenda at home and various projects can be found around the house. Ha!
- Girl Scouts is a big part of our lives! Somehow I was convinced to be a leader last year but it's been a great experience and all of Katie's friends are in our troop so she has a blast. This year we are doing a Journey about Animals...right up Katie's alley!
- Katie is in 1st Grade and is excelling! I was worried about number grades this year but of course she has proven I have nothing to worry about! She seems to do very well at math...she understands it quickly so we'll see if that continues! She loves her teacher Mrs. Reid.
- Katie did soccer this past fall (of course I coached!) and loved it! Her age group was all girls so she seemed to not be as intimidated. She's still not very aggressive but I saw definitely improvement this year. She scored quite a few goals...so proud! Hopefully we'll be able to fit it in our schedule again this spring.

Katie's Pancakes and Pajamas 7th Birthday Party!
Pancakes + Pajamas + Presents + Some Pretty Cute Girls = The Perfect Party! Katie's 7th birthday party was a hit! The theme was Pancakes and Pajamas. All the girls came in their PJ's and brought their favorite doll for a fun filled pancake buffet. Suprisingly the fruit was hardly touched??? :) They also made fruit loop necklaces and a no sew fleece doll blanket. Judging by the smile on Katie's face I think the party was a success!!!

American Girl!
For her birthday Katie wanted her first American Girl. All of her friends have them so it was time to cave. They just opened a store in Houston so Thanksgiving break was the perfect opportunity to head down there and have some girly fun! Of course Katie's BFF Sophia, our American Girl expert, came along with us! It was a great day :)
Ice Skating!
I took the kids ice skating with some friends the other other day. I knew Katie would have a blast but was unsure how Ryan would take to it. Well...he loved it! He didn't last very long...it's a lot of work! He got pretty tired and opted for hanging out with his buddy Clayton and playing on the iphones :)
