Fall Festival

Yesterday we had my mom's group's fall festival. The rain threatened but nothing was going to keep these kiddos from having fun!

The cutest kids ever!

Decorating cookies. I made the paintable icing which turned into a goopy mess and someone thought it would be a genius idea to just go ahead and dump the sprinkles IN the icing first. It eliminates a step right?

"I can read!!"

I heard my baby say those words the other night and I seriously turned into a blubbering ball of mush. After hearing about Bob books from a friend I thought they would be great to introduce to Katie....down the road. But my little stubborn red head found them and wanted to read them. It started rough...let's say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. She gets very frustrated easily which makes me frustrated and it all goes down hill from there. Anyway...we've made a lot of progress and I'm so proud! Now I realize a lot of this is memorization and context clues but hey...that's an important skill and I'm just so happy it's a positive thing right now :)

Of course I finally have the camera to catch her reading and the memory filled. Grr...but I think you'll get the gist!

Another one where she messes up...I do stop the video to help her :)

Adventures with Oreo - Days 1,2,3!

Katie has been talking about the class buddy for weeks. She remembers bringing home "Tommy the Turtle" last year and when she caught on that other classmates were taking home the class buddy she became heartbroken each week when she didn't get to take it home. Well...her wait is over! "Oreo the Dog" came home with Katie on Thursday and will get to spend the entire weekend with us! It's exhausting entertaining a class buddy!

After school we went home had lunch and Katie introduced Oreo to Cali! Cali happened to be playing dress up. :S Poor dog! Then it was naptime!

We took Oreo out for ice cream after dinner! YUM

Friday was a boring, rainy day at home and mommy didn't take any pictures...oops!

This morning we went to see Cinderella at Chick-fil-a. Katie and Oreo loved it! She autographed a picture for both Katie and Oreo!

So excited!

Two princesses...and a prince...

We love Chick-fil-a!

The next thing Katie wanted to do with Oreo was take him to the Library. So off we went...

Lots more adventures to come I'm sure!

"Kickin'" Off the Soccer Season

Katie had her first Soccer game Saturday! Unfortunately Mommy had a session and couldn't make it. I rushed to the field as fast as I could only to get there 2 minutes too late. I did find this smiley girl coming off the field.

We won't speak of the score, which wasn't really even tallied except by Keith...ahem. But she said she had fun. They've only had one practice and I don't think she even remotely grasps the concept of what she's supposed to do. She told me there were just too many people around the ball...which is true in 3 year old jumble ball! :) I'm excited that I get to watch next week!

Soccer Star

Katie had her first soccer practice on Tuesday. 3 year olds playing soccer...about all I can say is WOW! Lots of nose picking and daydreaming going on on that field. Oh well...should be an interesting game on Saturday considering the kids had no clue what to do during the little scrimmage they had. Good times!
