Crankiness

It was just one of those days...and it was one of those nights...

Ryan didn't sleep...I didn't sleep but Katie was off to the Grandparent's so I was determined to take Ryan to his playgroup at the fountains. I think we lasted all of 10 minutes :(

It wasn't his idea of fun today...it hurt his poor little knees :(


So we took our cranky selves home...

Because last night when he refused to sleep from he gosh awful hour of 1am to 6am I was about to package him up and ship him out!

But then he has to go and look all cute while eating his bananas...one lodged perfectly in his neck...


Maybe that's a cuteness only a mother can love

Anyway, this sorta makes you feel guilty that you almost left him on your neighbor's doorstep at 2 am...


Who needs sleep anyway?

Just another Manic Monday...Whoa Whoa

Actually, it wasn't too manic...but I liked the sound of it! The morning was a little manic with a trip with some moms group moms to the Summer Reading Kick Off at the library. It was crowded and hot and hot and did I mention crowded? We had fun though and finally bailed and took the Trolley for a ride around the Waterway, Mall and Market Street. Six kids and 3 strollers on a trolley was an adventure but we did it! Not too many pictures from the day....but can I get an "awwwwww" on this one????

Splash of Color and Little Printer

This past week while my brother was here, we took advantage of his painting skills and did a bit of home improvement. We painted our master bedroom and bathroom and the guest bathroom. It only took us 5 years! :P Anyway...the bathrooms aren't quite finished yet...lighting issues but I'm really amazed at what such a simple (and somewhat inexpensive) change can do!

Our new bedroom color...the perfect shade of "not too blue" :)

Maybe if I can get everything cleaned up I'll do a before and after post :)

I have tried to get Katie interested in letters and learning their sounds etc for quite sometime now. She's never wanted anything to do with it so I didn't push. It's so funny how they have little minds of their own and will decide to do something on their own terms. Two days ago I asked Katie if she'd like to learn to print her name just as I've asked a million times before. To my surprise she said yes! Now she's obsessed with carefully writing the letters of her name except for "e" because according to her "it's the tricky one." She's doing really well!


We've also started reading chapter books...Junie B. Jones to be exact. I change some of the words though because I don't exactly want Katie running around calling her friends "stupid" and "dumb" and we have to talk about how Junie B mispronounces words (the only beef I have with those books) but she thinks they are funny and loves to listen to me read them.
