First Friends

We've been friends with the Selos family before we even moved to Texas. Keith and I were even at their wedding! Then both of our family's moved out to Texas and not only did we move to the same area of of town, but the same neighborhood and street. They were our first friends. Now they are heading back to CA to live and we will miss them!

We had one last little playdate the other day...my how things changed in the past 7 years!

Alaska in a nutshell! A really BIG nutshell! :)

Keith and I returned from a much needed, relaxing cruise to Alaska! We went with my parents, brother and some family friends. It was a great break from the daily grind. Alaska is just beautiful...you can't help but love it.

Day 1 - Took off from Seattle on a BEAUTIFUL day!

Day 2 - Was spent at sea...no pics :(

Day 3 - Ketchican, AK! The guys went salmon fishing bright and early while my mom and I and some other friends took the city bus to Totem Bight State Park. It was great! And all for $2!

Day 4 - Juneau, AK and Glacier Day! Once again we ignored the onboard excursion business and did our own thing. We took a tram up, up, up to the top of Mt. Roberts which overlooks Juneau and the bay. It was a gorgeous day yet again and the views were amazing. There were also easy hiking trails which we took to get higher up the mountain. After that we went in search of a crab shack I had read about and it did not dissappoint! If you are ever in Juneau head to Tracy's Crab Shack!

In the afternoon we sailed up Tracy's Arm Fjord to see Sawyer Glacier on a gorgeous sunny day. It was beautiful....I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

Day 5 - Skagway! Such a cute little historic town and is more known for it's train that takes you up in the mountains. My mom and I had done that train on our last trip so we decided to see what else there was to do when we got off the boat. We found something called an Ocean Raft and boy were were we in for a treat! Imagine a a cross between super fast boat, astronaut-like life preserver suits, riding a horse and amazing scenery!

Day 6 - Prince Rupert :S - Not such a great port although a cute town. There was nothing to do and it was rainy and cold.

Here are some random shots from around the boat!

More from the 4th!

Just a few more pictures from a fun 4th of July with the family!
