Zooin' It
Katie, Ryan and I headed to the zoo on a whim this morning. Rushed out the door, picked up some donuts and juice and we were on our way! It was a beautiful day. Have I mentioned we love the Houston zoo? I just love taking the kids there and it never gets old for them. This time we saw the Dora and Diego 4D Adventure. They thought that was WAY COOL. It was pretty neat :). It's so hard now that Katie's in school. It was a lot easier to go on a weekday and beat the crowds. Felt pretty lucky to have today with my girl. We even found Katie's brick that we bought last year for her birthday!
B Baller
I kind of have an unspoken rule when it comes to extra curricular sports. One HAS to involve running and two is the max at one time. So dance is great but it doesn't fullfill my criteria. After soccer ended I asked Katie what sport she would like to do. She could do soccer again or try something else. She was 100% sure she wanted to play basketball. Mommy filled with pride and I calmly said...sure!
I think she's a bit intimidated. But my girl scored a basket and I saw a bit more aggressiveness than I did in soccer. I mean...who couldn't look aggressive with a mouth guard. lol!

I know these pictures don't show it, but there are girls in the league. Only one other on her team though.

Party at The Little Gym!
Better late than never! We had to cancel Katie's original party due to being sick. It was supposed to be at home but she decided that Little Gym would be a great place instead. I was all for that! :) She had a blast and hopefully all her friends did too. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves....
Happy (Late!) Birthday Katie!

72 Degrees on Jan 6...
So we are outside in shorts and tshirts! :) I love taking pictures of the kids playing outside. It's where my photography buzz started!
My sweet boy. So imaginative, cuddly, smart and content...when his sister isn't in the equation.

And this one...have to admit I'm not liking this stage of sassyness, attitude, defiance, backtalking, eyerolling. I honestly thought I wouldn't have to deal with it until the teens. Heaven help me. It's hard to tell from these sweet pictures of her that a major tantrum/fight had just occurred. One that included me dragging her upstairs to her room for a time out. UGGGGGHHHH!

Bringing In 2012!
We love spending New Years Eve witho our pals the Hollas Fam. Last year we weren't able to get together because of the brand new addition to their family, Matthew (Happy Birthday Buddy!). And this year we added the Tarros! So much fun....I think the kids only stopped for a second to eat. :)

We had lots of fun with the sparklers :)

And worked very hard on our Sparkler 2012. Look at that concentration! ROCKED IT!
Happy New Year Everyone!

Christmas 2011!
It's hard to believe Christmas has come and gone. Believe it or not, it was our first Christmas morning in this house. It was really nice to be home but we missed our CA family terribly! Skyping while opening Christmas presents was definitely a first! ;)
One goal of mine was to do some baking. I think my waist-line is regretting it now though! Here are the kids making Santa's cookies :)
Sweet Cali and our tree...
We spent a very lazy Christmas Eve at home, just the 4 of us. We ended up opening one present...a Kinect!!!...and had tons of fun burning off Christmas energy. We had a nice dinner where Katie set a lovely table. The kids' favorite part was the Sparkling Cider in fancy (plastic) wine glasses. :) Then they opened their gifts from Bert, our Elf. Christmas jammies! They put them on and we got in the car with some hot chocolate and drove to see some Christmas lights.

Christmas morning didn't come toooooo early. I remember 5am mornings when I was a kid and am not looking forward to that! The kids seemed to love their goodies! Katie's favorite...her My Twinn doll and her Nintendo DS. Ryan's favorite...probably his toy trumpet. :)

Then it was off to Aunt Stacy and Uncle Mike's house to spend Christmas day with Keith's family! So much fun to see the cousin's play. Brooke is getting so big!

I feel completely blessed. :)

Parties and Lights!
The kids had their holiday parties this past week and we are officially on vacation! I now understand why parents of school age kids look forward to it. No drop off or pick up for 2 weeks!!!
Ryan's party was cute. They sang jingle bells, did a craft and Ryan cried for tissues the majority of the time. :) He was VERY grumpy!
And Katie's party and lack of picture due to the still grumpy 3 year old who was in attendance :S They made cute reindeer ornaments and decorated cookies!
Spur of the moment we decided to head up to Santa's Wonderland in College Station. So much fun (except for the 1.5 hour wait..coulda done without that!)! Wish we had a bit more time to spend at the Santa's Town. So cool! The kids really enjoyed it though and that's all that matters!
I have no idea why some of the video is upside down! I've never had that problem before!
